John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has been able to touch many through his music. A lot of them were inspired by Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in the love of Colorado and eventually relocated to Aspen. Denver's iconic anthems for Colorado have been a major influence on many to move to the state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says the fact that John Denver is unlike any other artist who embodies Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's initial inductee, was honoured by the honor in 2011. For many, Denver is the Colorado image. Certainly in my travels you encounter someone on the other end of the planet, or someone of New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes they say is"Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's top 10 hit following a performance with a small folk music bands. It was co-written by and recorded by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the tune to Johnny Cash but Denver recognized its potential the moment he heard it for the first time. A few days after performing to an excited audience at Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
